Hardness Testing Services

Hardness testing helps to determine the ability of a material to resist wear, abrasion, penetration, deformation, and machining.  As a fundamentally accepted characteristic used in the process of material property identification regarding strength, hardness is typically a component within a larger testing protocol.  Tensile testing and chemical composition analysis will provide the minimum amount of information to identify a type of material. However, by incorporating hardness data into the overall testing regime, the entire fingerprint for a specific heat lot is revealed.   Therefore, accurate decisions can be made for an intended use.

The three most commonly requested hardness test methods are:
  • Brinell hardness
  • Rockwell hardness
  • Vickers micro-hardness
Each of these test types are best suited for specific applications.

Quality Testing, Inc. is equipped to be able to perform each type of hardness test depending on your specific needs and requirements.  Call 1-888-611-3076, contact us or fill out our Quick RFQ form and get reliable, trustworthy results on your next project!
